How much does lawn care cost in Victoria, BC?

The cost of professional lawn care in Victoria, BC depends on your property size, visit frequency, lawn conditions and the amount of garden maintenance required. At Mow Clean Lawn and Garden, our year-round residential lawn care plans start at $175 per month, with three service options to suit different properties and maintenance needs.

Our recurring plans provide predictable monthly pricing, professional lawn mowing and seasonal property maintenance, delivered using quiet, all-electric equipment.

For standard residential lots under 10,000 sq. ft. in our core service areas, including Gordon Head, Fairfield, Oak Bay, James Bay and Saanich, choose from three levels of service:

• Essential — $175/month ($2,100/year): 23 scheduled visits annually for reliable, year-round lawn care and essential seasonal cleanup.

• Hybrid — $250/month ($3,000/year): 33 scheduled visits annually, with more frequent service during peak growing periods and additional garden maintenance when mowing isn't needed.

• Premium — $333/month ($4,000/year): 40 scheduled visits annually, with weekly service from March through November, our Lawn Health Bundle, hedge and shrub care, and a minimum of 15 minutes of garden maintenance per visit, plus garden maintenance when mowing isn't needed.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. Our residential lawn and garden maintenance plans run on 12 month equal billing, but we have no long-term contracts. Meaning you can cancel anytime.  We believe you should stay with Mow Clean because you're happy with our service, not because you're locked into an agreement. If you're not satisfied or your needs change, you can cancel your residential service at any time. Strata and Commercial clients can cancel with 60 days notice.

Can I cancel my lawn care service at any time?

Yes. Residential customers can cancel their recurring lawn and garden maintenance service at any time. At Mow Clean, we're only happy when our clients are happy, and we want to earn your business through reliable service, clear communication and consistent results.

For strata and commercial clients, 60 days' notice is required under the applicable service arrangement.

Will the same crew look after my property each visit?

We aim to provide consistent, reliable service through an organized crew and scheduling system. Staffing and schedules can change, but we maintain service notes and property-specific instructions to help our team understand your preferences and maintain consistent results.

Do I pay for lawn care during the winter?

Yes. Our residential maintenance plans use predictable monthly billing across 12 months, spreading the annual cost of service throughout the year. Winter maintenance visits are included in your plan, helping keep your property tidy even when grass growth slows and keeping your property well maintained coming into the busy spring season.

Do I need to be home during maintenance?

Generally, no. As long as our crew has the agreed-upon access to your property and any necessary instructions, we can complete routine scheduled maintenance while you're away. You can enjoy a maintained property without having to organize your day around our arrival. If you have a locked gate, just ensure our crew has the code and we will take care of the rest.

What happens if my lawn stops growing during the summer?

Your scheduled maintenance visit can still provide value when your lawn grows slowly or becomes dormant during hot, dry summer weather.

Rather than mowing grass that doesn't need cutting, we can focus on other maintenance around your property. This may include weeding and tidying garden beds, shrub care, hedge maintenance and other agreed-upon tasks.

Our Hybrid and Premium plans specifically provide garden maintenance when mowing isn't needed. With Premium, you also receive a minimum of 15 minutes of garden maintenance per visit, in addition to garden maintenance when mowing isn't needed.

You're investing in ongoing lawn and garden maintenance—not simply a mowing visit.

How do I know which plan is right for me?

Think about how often you want your lawn maintained and how much attention your garden needs.

• Essential — $175/month: Reliable year-round lawn care with essential seasonal cleanup.

• Hybrid — $250/month: More frequent service during peak growing periods, with garden maintenance when mowing isn't needed.

• Premium — $333/month: Our most comprehensive plan, including the Lawn Health Bundle, hedge and shrub care, and a minimum of 15 minutes of garden maintenance per visit, plus garden maintenance when mowing isn't needed.

Is weekly or bi-weekly lawn mowing better?

It depends on your property and how quickly your lawn grows. Bi-weekly maintenance works well for many properties, while weekly service can provide a more consistently maintained lawn during periods of rapid growth. We adjust our maintenance approach to Victoria's seasonal growing conditions.

Can I ask for extra work when your crew is already at my property?

Of course. If you'd like additional weeding, hedge trimming, leaf removal or another service, let us know. We'll confirm whether the work fits within your plan or requires an additional quote, and whether we have enough time to complete it during that visit. We won't assume extra work is included if it falls outside your agreed service.

Do you charge by the hour or by the visit?

For recurring residential clients, we provide predictable maintenance plans with scheduled visits and monthly pricing. One-off services are subject to the minimum prices shown on this page, while recurring clients receive a minimum of 2 hours of service per visit.

Do you offer one-time lawn and garden services?

Yes. We offer one-time services including garden maintenance, hedge and shrub trimming, mulch installation, lawn health services and seasonal cleanups. One-off services are subject to the minimum prices shown in our pricing-at-a-glance section.

Why does lawn care cost more for some properties?

Several factors affect the cost of lawn and garden maintenance, including property size, lawn and garden-bed area, terrain, access, service frequency and the amount of ongoing garden maintenance required. Larger or more complex properties generally require more time to maintain.

Are there any extra charges beyond my monthly price?

Your recurring monthly fee covers the services and visit schedule specified in your selected plan. Work outside those inclusions, unusually extensive cleanup, additional materials or other separately quoted services may cost extra. We'll clarify the scope and pricing before proceeding with additional work.

Do your residential prices apply to strata or commercial properties?

No. The prices shown on this page are for residential properties. Strata, commercial and government properties are quoted separately based on the property's size, scope of work, access and maintenance requirements.
